This Arduino.lab microsite is part of Loreto High School's wider Computer.lab initiative which has the aim of enabling pupils to become 'digital creators' rather than just 'digital consumers'. There is a strong emphasis on developing programming skills and concepts in a variety of text-based and graphical programming languages.
Arduino is an open-source microcontroller platform which can be used to control hardware by means of control software written in a text-based language similar to C. A simplified self-assembly version of Arduino is known as the Shrimp and this is what we will be using to develop electronics, computing and programming skills.
